Immersive Technology Student & XR Developer
Zurich, Switzerland
Download CVI'm Lukas Werner — an Immersive Technology student at HSLU in Switzerland, building experiences that live between the physical and the digital. My route here wasn't straight: business school, the Swiss Air Force, and a job in quality management all came first. Each step shaped how I think about systems, precision, and human experience.
I work across Unreal Engine, Unity, and Blender — from VR combat games and physics-based gondola simulations to AR world-builders and generative graphics. What drives me is that moment when a virtual space stops feeling like a screen and starts feeling real.
Outside of the screen, I spend my time on the mountain snowboarding, keeping sharp through combat sports — boxing and jiu-jitsu — and unwinding with music. The guitar has been a constant for years.
Journey
BSc Immersive Technologies — HSLU Rotkreuz
Started the BSc programme at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. After years of searching for the right path, this was the one that genuinely excited me from day one. Expected graduation: Summer 2027.
Hempel Special Metals AG — Quality Management
Working part-time in Quality Management and Accounting alongside my studies. ISO standards, QMS documentation, process audits, and finance work. Running in parallel with everything else — and teaching me how professional organisations actually function from the inside.
Swiss Armed Forces — Air Force
Completed recruit school in Payerne with the Swiss Air Force. Months of structure, discipline, and performing under pressure. A completely different kind of challenge that sharpened how I approach problems and work within a team.
University of Zurich — Business Administration
Two semesters studying Business Administration before realising it was not the right fit. I could learn the material, but none of it made me want to keep going. Leaving was one of the harder decisions — and one of the best.
Kantonsschule Hottingen, Zurich — Matura
Upper secondary school in Zurich with a focus in Economics. Graduated with the Swiss Matura — the formal qualification that opened the door to university study. Developed analytical thinking and a growing curiosity for how systems, digital and otherwise, work.
